Shihan Donald Palko

Shihan Donald Palko is the Founder and Chief Instructor of Gales Ferry Karate and the Okina Kashi no Karate Jutsu style and holds a Hachidan (8th Degree Black Belt) in A.I.M.A Shotokan Karate-jitsu and Kwanmukan Karate. He began his Martial Arts training in October 1979 at the F. H. Buhl Club in Sharon, PA under tutelage of Soke Max Ciscell and Soke Joseph Bonacci. Sensei Palko was trained in Isshinryu Karate, Taekwondo, Shotokan Karate, Kenka Aiki-jitsu and Yamanni Ryu Kobudo. From 1981 to 2005 Sensei served with distinction in the U.S. Navy until his retirement as a Chief Radioman/Electronics Technician earning both Submarine and Surface Warfare designiations. His exposure to Naval discipline, Quality Leadership and Auxiliary Security Force Training has allowed him to bring this specialized training and experience into the dojo. Shihan’s wide range of experience allows him to provide quality Martial Arts instruction to beginner and advanced students alike. Through his training techniques his students exude confidence and self-discipline.
